Hello Everyone!

This has been a tremendous year!

Our new website, www.smartoncrimesolutions.org, is looking good and certainly going strong.  In the first month up, we were averaging almost 2,000 visits per week.  We are now up to almost 2,000 hits per day!

We have new projects moving forward, including the Sustainable Freedom project, which is currently gaining momentum at Gemeinschaft Home.  The Platinum Focus Media project has expanded, and you may have even seen some of our aspiring models’ photos in our promotions as well as advertising for other charities we work with.  And, the Family Bound program is expanding with the Task Force on Innovative Prevention and Prisoner Reentry - Family Assistance to Improve Reintegration and Unification, which was initiated with the support of the Administration for Children and Families through their Welfare Peer Technical Assistance Network.  In February 2010, we will also be presenting our first workshop for the Let’s Read, Let’s Talk – Building the Forever Story project at the 11th Annual National Fatherhood & Families Conference.

Of course, this year’s Smart on Crime conference was a great success, especially since the Welfare Peer Technical Assistance Network published a fantastic report from the conference detailing the work of our new task force.  (Final Report of Peer TA Activity # 181)

We have begun the Family and Youth Defense Fund under our Family Bound program, and we are already receiving donations to support the fund.

We are still seeing a major push on many levels across the country for overall ‘smart on crime’ legislation and policies, as well as innovative prisoner reentry programs.

Now, we just need our Members to renew!

We also want to encourage new members to join.  You can simply use the JOIN NOW page on our site, complete with an online membership application through PayPal, or you can use the good old fashion method of downloading a printable version of the form to be submitted by mail.

We hope you will take the opportunity to renew or join, and we are offering free t-shirts for those who become Family Members!!**

Please make sure to tell a friend about our organization and encourage their support.

Finally, don’t forget to increase our chances of receiving the $25,000 prize from JP Morgan Chase and Facebook by voting for AdvoCare with the Chase Community Giving initiative!  The voting ends December 11, 2009, and the Top 100 charities will receive the $25,000 as well as being eligible for voting in January 2010 for five $100,000 donations and a $1 million grant.  Please make our holiday a spectacular one by getting out the VOTE!
